Every story deserves a place where its memories can live. For AOEN, that place is the Blue Diary. More than just a notebook, it has become a symbol of the group's journey, preserving the dreams they dared to chase, the challenges they overcame, and the memories they continue to create with AORING, the fans who walk alongside them. As its pages continue to grow, so does the story of seven young men chasing a dream together. Within those pages live the dreams they dared to chase, the tears they shed behind the stage lights, and the memories they continue to create with AORING. Every page marks the beginning of another chapter, reminding us that even the greatest stories begin with a single dream.
Just as AOEN has the Blue Diary, we AORING have one of our own. Ours may not be bound by paper or ink, but it exists in our hearts through every concert we attend, every comeback we celebrate, every achievement that fills us with pride, and every unforgettable memory we create alongside the seven members. Years from now, when we look back on those moments, we will not only remember how AOEN grew into the artists they dreamed of becoming. We will remember that we grew with them. The Blue Diary is not only AOEN’s story. It is ours as well.
My diary cannot be held in my hands, but it can be found here on Fan’s Log, across my social media accounts, and in every memory I choose to preserve. Since this is the Beginning of Forever, I want to tell you how I became an AORING.
Like many memorable stories, mine began on an ordinary day.
While working, I opened a new browser tab as I had done countless times before. My company’s browser uses MSN as its default homepage, and among all the headlines that day, one image immediately caught my attention. Seven boys stood together wearing outfits that looked effortlessly cool. I clicked the article without thinking much of it. That simple click became the first page of this story.
The article announced that HYBE LABELS JAPAN would soon debut a new boy group called AOEN.
At that point in my life, I was already looking for a Japanese group to stan. That desire had been growing for quite some time. Since I was studying Japanese, listening to J-pop allowed me to appreciate not only the melody but also the lyrics without constantly relying on translations. Understanding the meaning behind each song created a much deeper emotional connection with the artists and their music. With K-pop, I often found myself enjoying the sound first, while the message behind the songs felt more distant. That difference made J-pop feel more personal to me.
As time went on, another reason further strengthened that decision. To be completely honest, I had begun distancing myself from K-pop. It wasn’t because of the music or the artists themselves. Rather, it was because of the growing hostility I had witnessed from some Korean K-pop fans toward fans from Southeast Asia. As a Filipino, seeing racist remarks and unnecessary fan wars left a bitter impression on me. I know it may not be entirely reasonable to let the actions of some fans influence how I felt, but I’m only human. It simply felt like the right time to focus more on J-pop and P-pop, where my heart naturally found its place.
When I first discovered AOEN, I found myself quietly wondering if this might be the group I had been waiting for.
Then came their debut.
When their debut day finally arrived, my feelings were surprisingly complicated.
The moment I heard 青い太陽 (The Blue Sun), I instantly fell in love with it. The song was exactly what I had hoped for. Even better were the members themselves. Their styling felt modern, refreshing, and unlike the traditional idol costumes that I personally never found appealing.
However, there was one small detail that left me uncertain. The yo-yo that was featured prominently throughout the music video felt surprisingly youthful. I know this will probably make some fans laugh, but as someone already in his thirties, I simply couldn’t take it seriously. It felt a little too childish for my taste and age. I worried that AOEN was aiming for a much younger audience, and for the first time, I questioned whether they would become the group I had imagined.
So I made a decision. Rather than rushing into the fandom, I decided to wait.
I have always believed that some artists are like fine wine. They mature with time, becoming richer, more refined, and more captivating with every new chapter. I wanted to give AOEN that opportunity. Although I followed all of their official social media accounts, I wasn’t checking every update religiously. Around the same time, another Korean boy group featuring a Filipino member had also debuted. As a fellow Filipino, I naturally wanted to support him as he pursued his dream in Korea while also participating in the group’s activities in Japan. Combined with the demands of work, my fan life became busier than ever, and AOEN quietly remained in the background while I waited to see how their story would unfold.
Then something unexpected happened.
News of their second single, 『秒で落ちた』, found its way to me without me even looking for it. To this day, I still don’t know how I came across the announcement, but the moment I saw the concept photos, everything changed. It was one of those rare moments where certainty arrives without explanation. Looking at the styling, the atmosphere, and the direction they were taking, I instinctively knew that this was the AOEN I had been waiting for. In that instant, every hesitation I had since their debut quietly disappeared.
I knew it was time.
Without a second thought, I joined the official AORING fan club and purchased my copy of 『秒で落ちた』. Only afterward did I discover that purchasing the album also provided an opportunity to enter the lottery for AOEN’s all-member signing event.
Ironically, only weeks before that, I had entered the all-member signing event for the same K-pop group with the Filipino member that I mentioned earlier. Supporting him as a fellow Filipino made that opportunity especially meaningful to me, and I wanted to be selected more than anything. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on my side, and I wasn’t chosen.
I won’t pretend it didn’t hurt.
For a while, I carried that disappointment with me because it represented something I had genuinely wanted to experience. Even so, I have always believed that not every closed door is meant to remain closed forever. Sometimes life simply redirects us toward a different path, even if we cannot yet understand why. I even shared those thoughts on X shortly after learning the results, convincing myself that perhaps another opportunity was waiting somewhere ahead.
As it turned out, it was.
With just one copy of 『秒で落ちた』, I was selected for AOEN’s all-member signing event.
It almost didn’t feel real.
Only weeks after experiencing disappointment, I found myself celebrating one of the happiest moments of my life as a fan. If someone had told me beforehand that a single copy of the album would lead to such an unforgettable experience, I would have struggled to believe it. Yet there I was, holding proof that life’s greatest surprises often arrive when we least expect them.
Receiving that signed poster meant far more than owning another collectible.
It became the moment AOEN truly found a permanent place in my heart.
From that day forward, supporting AOEN no longer felt like a decision. It became something completely natural. I began attending more events, collecting more albums, participating in fan activities, and investing more of my time supporting the seven members.
Creating the AOEN section of Fan’s Log has become the foundation of that diary. It is the first fan site that I have ever dedicated countless hours to building, carefully preserving memories, writing articles, sharing photographs, and documenting milestones that I hope fellow AORING can enjoy revisiting for years to come. Every page was created with genuine admiration for the group and a sincere desire to celebrate their journey alongside my own. If you have suggestions, stories, or simply want to share your own experiences as an AORING, I would be delighted to hear from you through the Contact Us page.
Looking back now, every moment feels like another page in my own Blue Diary. A random article on MSN introduced me to AOEN. Their debut left me both excited and uncertain. Their second single erased every doubt I had, and an unexpected signing event gave me a memory I will treasure for years to come. Each moment became another page in my Blue Diary, and together they tell the story of how my journey with AOEN truly began.
This is only the first chapter.
Just like AOEN’s Blue Diary, mine is still being written. There will be more concerts, more comebacks, more unforgettable memories, and undoubtedly more unexpected moments waiting beyond the next page.
This is not simply the beginning of another post.
It is the beginning of forever.
